The SKB Industrial Shock Racks feature a unique compound hinge system and field-replaceable latches that allows the lid to swing out of the way completely and a rigid, shock isolated frame for holding your components.

The new Industrial Roto Shock Rack cases from SKB have a completely redesigned frame with threaded steel rails and aluminum cross components forming an H shaped rigid configuration. Featuring a Patent Pending Compound hinge system and field replaceable latches that allows the lid to swing out and completely around to lie flat against the main body of the case, or you can go lid-less with an effortless lift motion and reinstalled with the same ease in seconds. The front and read lids are designed to protrude into the base of the case approximately 1in and their unique double wall structure makes them incredibly stiff where this intersection occurs. Making this new generation of shock racks mil-spec sealing characteristics with significantly fewer latches than most competition. This allows for rapid deployment in an up-right configuration. . . even when stacked. The standard depth front to rear rail is 30in and each lid is 4in deep. The new SKB shock-rack system stacks securely with the wheels on or off and this revolutionary design is also the only shock rack that will open front and back while stacked.

SKB Introduces Bold Advancements in Shockmount Rack Technology

During the last 26 years SKB has designed and built more rack cases than any company. In the fall of 2001 SKB began the development of the ultimate shock-rack system. Careful analysis of existing rackmount technology led SKB engineers to re-examine every detail and focus on making numerous significant design upgrades resulting in a product that now sets the standard in shock-resistant transport.

• The rack frame:
  The completely redesigned frame is an engineering masterpiece. Threaded steel rails and aluminum cross components are clamped together in an “H” shaped rigid configuration by four, 3/16" solid steel rivets at every intersection.
• Compound hinge* system (Patent Pending):
  Open the superb quality field-replaceable latches on the left-hand side of the door and the lid swings out … and completely around to lie flat against the main body. If you want to go “lid-less” they can be removed with an effortless lift motion and reinstalled with the same ease in seconds.
• “Plug fit” lids:
  The lids are designed to protrude into the base of the case approx. 1”. Their unique double wall structure makes them incredibly stiff where this intersection occurs. For this reason, this new generation of shock racks achieves mil-spec sealing characteristics with significantly fewer latches than the competition. This allows rapid deployment in an up-right configuration…even when stacked.
• Stackability:
  Most shockmount cases will allow for some level of stackability. The new SKB shock-rack system takes this necessary feature to a new level. These cases stack securely with the wheels on…or off. Additionally, the revolutionary design is also the only one that will open, front and back, while stacked.
• Accessories:
  A growing list of available options and accessories now includes the best-designed removable slide-in caster system in the industry, airtight/watertight automatic relief valves, key lockable latches, payload rear support system and nomenclature per mil-specs, additional field installable shocks and custom colors.
• Elastomers:
  All SKB shock-racks come standard with 8ea. HM-245 elastomeric high-damping, wide temp. range shock mounts. Shear spring rate is 50 lbs/in. Additional or stiffer shock mounts may be ordered from the factory, and are easily field-installed. Standard depth front to rear rail: 24” Each lid is 4.5" deep.
